Miles Laskin, Writer
I’m Miles Laskin, a Junior at Minnetonka High School taking the Multimedia Communications VANTAGE strand. I chose to take this course to learn more about how journalism could affect my future career through the Digital Journalism class. I aim to explore the professional world and learn how different work environments operate. I’m interested in a variety of activities including baseball and basketball. I also enjoy watching movies and TV shows and am interested in the process of how they’re created. I hope to learn some of this through the Video Production aspect of this VANTAGE strand.
Alex Severns-Williams, Writer
I’m Alex Severns-Williams, a junior at Minnetonka High School, and am currently taking VANTAGE in the Multimedia Communications strand. I took this strand because I have always been very interested in video production since I was younger. I was also very interested in learning more about writing so I figured a mix of digital journalism and video production would be the perfect class for me to experiment with and learn more about these things in the professional world. In my personal life, I love to hangout with family and friends, play sports, as well as skiing in the winter.
Camryn Olberding, Writer
I am Camryn Olberding. I am a junior at Minnetonka High School. I’ve always had a passion for taking photos and capturing little moments. Additionally, my dream job is to be a part of a marketing or media team for a professional sports team. This passion and dream has led me to choose a path in Multimedia Communication.
Outside of school, during the winter, I play for the Minnetonka girl basketball team and enjoy snowboarding. During the summer I love to partake in water sports such as surfing, wakeboarding, and water skiing. However, I especially appreciate the time I spend with my friends and family!
Brock Larson, Writer
I’m Brock Larson, an eleventh-grade student in VANTAGE multimedia communications. I enrolled in VANTAGE to become involved in sports media/sports journalism. I’ve been a Seahawks fan for over 10 years and love to ramble about them to anyone who will listen to me. Taking VANTAGE will help me translate my passion into a career. I noticed I liked to write in my 9th-grade communications class. We had an assignment to research anything “sciencey” and then write an essay on it. I decided to look into mass hysteria, something that was interesting to me, and loved it. After that, I discovered how much I enjoy to write about my interests.
